The Health Center
Webb's Health Center staff is committed to ensure the overall wellness of our community: students, faculty, staff, and families residing on campus.
The Health Center staff provides medical care through collaboration with the local medical community. Under the supervision of our Medical Director, Dr. Victoria Shook, we assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate our patients utilizing The Webb Schools Health Center Nursing Protocols. We network with local physicians to secure optimal care for our community.
The Health Center is a recognized, integral component to Webb's residential program. As such, the Health Center staff strives to maintain optimal communication with the academic community. Building reciprocal relationships with students, parents, and faculty, while maintaining student confidentiality, is a fundamental aspect of our program.
Recognizing the difficulties of adolescent adjustment, the Health Center staff strives to provide holistic, professional service to our community through kindness, courtesy, and nurturing care. We offer emotional support and encouragement to our students. We recognize the importance of the individual, both in the context of their culture and in the context of their families.
Webb believes that reinforcement of healthy lifestyles and the formation of good health habits are the cornerstones to success. Academic and athletic success hinges on the student's ability to make good decisions. We make every effort to educate our community by providing the necessary tools to develop healthy lifestyle skills through formal education and individual encounters. It is our goal to enable our students to become informed, health consumers capable of self-care in college and beyond.
